A few weeks ago myself and a group of activists protested against notorious animal abusers, Zippos Circus when they came to Brent Cross. Brent Cross is one of the few remaining boroughs in London that hasn’t banned the use of animals in circuses.
On our first night of protesting several police officers stopped us from demonstrating and said that we would be arrested if we handed out leaflets, stood near the circus entrance, used megaphones or chalked on the ground.
Because of this we decided to continue our protest inside Brent Cross Shopping Centre to expose Zippos and make the public aware of how they abuse and exploit animals. It wasn’t long until the police removed us from the building and served us with a 24 hour ban from the Brent Cross area.
